Nickel and Wrought Petty
This versatile petty was originally meant to be completely stone polished, but after some deliberation, I decided that it actually looked a little better given a gentle acid etch. The Nickel popped a little more post etch and there was nicer contrast between the cladding, nickel and core steel, in my opinion.
As such, the bevels have been flattened and polished up to 500g and are ready to be taken further should you decide to put this one up against your own whetstones. This blade would make an excellent pick up for anyone looking to add a smaller chopping board knife, that straddles the line between true petty and small gyuto, to their collection.
Stats:
- C130 core steel, clad in wrought iron along with a protective barrier of pure nickel for reduced carbon migration between cladding and core
- 184x49mm usable length, with a total blade length of 195mm
- Distal taper through the spine from 3mm - 0.5mm before the tip
- 126x28x22mm (LxHxW) Ebony handle that gently tapers in towards the blade
- Total weight of 161g
